Fit at your desk: simple exercises to combat the sitting dilemma

In today’s working world, which is characterized by long hours in front of a screen, the importance of regular exercise breaks is often underestimated.
Constant sedentary work not only leads to tension and back problems, but can also increase the risk of more serious health problems.
As an osteopath in Hamburg and an expert in body awareness, I would like to introduce you to simple but effective exercises that you can do directly at work or at home to prevent these complaints.
These short movement sessions can work wonders to revitalize your body and increase your productivity at the same time.

One of my favorite exercises that I particularly recommend is “standing boxing”.
This simple but powerful movement not only activates your metabolism but also improves your coordination.
All you need is a few minutes of time and some space to perform this exercise.
It’s a great way to invigorate your body and integrate a moment of mindfulness into your daily routine.

It is important that you choose exercises that you enjoy and that you want to do regularly. Start slowly, pay attention to your posture and listen to your body. If you feel pain, take a break. Remember that variety is the key to motivation, so feel free to try different exercises to keep your routine interesting. For most exercises you will only need minimal equipment such as a mat, a stopwatch and for certain exercises a chair or skipping rope.
