Measure grip strength
You need
a hand dynamometer (fitness studio) or
an adjustable hand trainer (sports store, inexpensive models under €20) or
a bathroom scale
Set the load on the hand trainer and see what load you can manage.
If you have a scale available, place one hand on the top and one on the bottom and squeeze the scale as hard as possible with both hands; you can then read off your result.
If you can compress less than 24 kg, this could – depending on your age – be an indication of health problems associated with a significant reduction in muscle quality.
To obtain clarity, discuss the result with your therapist.
